The Children's Book Bank offers a range of volunteer opportunities for committed individuals willing to give their time and energy to help support childhood literacy in lower income neighbourhoods.
Here's a selection of the roles we need to fill:
School/Community Book Drives:
- organize school/community book drives
- pick-up and delivery of books
- sorting books from the book drives
Working at The Children's Book Bank:
- sorting, shelving and packing donated books
- help children and caregivers to select appropriate books
- keep shelves stocked, neat and clean
- process the check-out of books
- reading with children
- program development
- community outreach (schedule school/community organization visits etc)
Office Operations:
- filing and copying
- data entry
- answering phones, correspondence
- event planning
Fundraising:
- development and execution of local fundraising programs and initiatives
