Thank you for participating in our inaugural Just in time for the Holidays online auction.
With your help we raised almost $8,000!
Bundling up against the cold this holiday season, we have the chance to reflect on life’s necessities and to consider the struggles many of our neighbours endure just to meet their basic needs. Did you know that 26% of Toronto’s children live in low-income families? And that the highest rates of child poverty are among Indigenous, racialized, and newcomer families?
I think you’d agree that having books in the home builds lifelong readers and, ultimately, more hopeful futures. But for the most vulnerable, choices have to be made, and buying books for their children may just not be an option. This is why The Children’s Book Bank is steadfastly committed to an accessible and sustainable mission of providing gently used books and literacy support in Toronto’s high needs communities.
And that’s why we ask for your help during this season of giving.
Today is Giving Tuesday. With each donation of $25 or more, CanadaHelps will add an additional $5 to your total, so your donation can go even further to put books into little hands.
