October 10, 2017
While I often act like I am 20, my body has this wonderful habit of reminding me that I am not. I had the best of plans– to train, inspire and run the 5k at this year’s Charity Challenge (as part of the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon) but an injury has made it clear that my plan wasn’t meant to be. At least not this year.
My knee has developed a rather musical click and I have been told that my running is the likely cause. And by continuing to run I will only exacerbate the problem and possibly cause more injury. So I have stopped running. BUT I am still participating in the event on Sunday, October 22nd, because I can still walk click-free.
You can walk or run with us – there is still time to sign up (just remember to add yourself to the Charity Challenge and choose Children’s Book Bank as your charity of choice). Or if you are feeling more sofa-friendly, consider making a donation to the team. We’re going to have a great time spending the day together in support of the Book Bank
And at the end of that 5k, I will proudly smooch my medal – because sometimes plans get modified.
